Hand-Built Ceramics

Allison Anne Brown specializes in a variety of complex and simple hand building techniques including: solid building, slab building, coil building, pinching, and more. Private lessons in hand-building are perfect for learning the specific skills you need to tackle a particularly difficult personal project or to get comfortable working in clay at your own pace. 

$75 an hour
Possible Topics:  Figure sculpting, bust making, plaster casting, one part molds, two part molds, glazing techniques, firing techniques,  solid-building, building using a template (Beer Steins, Coffee Mugs,) Pinching, Ceramic Jewelry,  Platters and impressions, Masks, or any Sip and Sculpt Subject.

Jewelry Making and Design

We offer one on one classes on basic white-smithing jewelry techniques in primarily brass. We have basic studio tool and finishing and we can also education you on the process of using laser cutting technology to assist in jewelry production.

Drawing

Allison Anne Brown currently offers private lessons in drawing for beginners and those wanting to expand those wanting to expand their technique. Classes are designed to fit your needs as an artist and can range in topic from still life, multimedia, and figure drawing.  

$45 an hour
$5 extra if materials are needed

Portfolio and Career Development

NOMAD is here to help you grow however we can. Sometimes that means teaching about the business and professional aspects of art-making to get our students to the next level in their career.  We offer private guidance on helping young aspiring arts on developing their own portfolio and business skills to get into artschools and art shows, and to develop their artistic careers.

Allison Anne Brown was a student of both the Fine Arts Center and The South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. She applied for and attended college for fine art. and has a gratuitous amount of personal experience in art-business, networking, craft shows, and portfolio presentation.
