Formed by local southern grown ceramic artist Allison Anne Brown in late 2015, NOMAD Mobile Art Studio is a local art school that brings something unique to the Upstate. NOMAD is a completely portable classroom that can be mobilized wherever is most convenient (or fun!) for you.
Since clay is how we began, we specialize in ceramics classes, offering a variety of types of projects and class plans. Ceramics is not easy to make portable and we have worked very hard to be able to bring it to you! Clay has so many possibilities and we are excited to be able to bring them to you. Starting this summer, We now offer a few jewelry classes as well! See our class list for more info. NOMAD prides itself in offering something different for the Greenville and Upstate area. We often hold not-so-conventional public events to keep even the most boredom-prone, entertained. We love to come up with creative new ideas for your event. so reach out and we can brew up something special for you. NOMAD also prides itself with the connections that we build in the community. Owner/Director
Owner, Creator, and Mastermind of NOMAD, Allison has been growing her studio since she moved back home in 2012. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of South Carolina with a focus in Ceramics. Allison has expanded her knowledge pre and post graduation by studying abroad in Taiwan at the Tainan National University of the Arts and nationally at places like Santa Fe Clay in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and The Bascom in Highlands, North Carolina, and Arrowmont in Gatlinburg, TN. Allison brings a wide variety of sculptural and drawing skills to the studio with over 20 years of experience and a knack for problem solving, and creative development.
Allison also has a background in sales, marketing and small business development, honed by working for other companies and growing her own. She currently handles all administrative tasks for NOMAD and is the designer and owner of DARKSTAR MACHINATIONS, a handmade jewelry company.
